Bali: The Island of the Gods

Rice terraces, temples in the mist, and sunsets from the cliffs of Uluwatu. Bali is so much more than an Instagram destination.

Arriving in Bali

The humid heat wraps around you the moment you step out of Denpasar airport. The motorbike traffic, the scent of frangipani, and the offering altars on every corner remind you that you've arrived somewhere unlike anywhere else.

Ubud, the Heart of Bali

We spent a week in Ubud. The Tegallalang rice terraces, the Monkey Forest, the colourful markets — and the afternoons reading on the terrace with views over the jungle.

Temples and Spirituality

Bali has over 20,000 temples. Tanah Lot at sunset, Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung, Uluwatu perched on the cliffs with the Indian Ocean stretching out below. Each one with its own story, its own magic, its own ceremonies.

The South and the Beaches

Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua. Every corner of the south has its own character. Waves for surfers, beach clubs for those wanting to watch the sunset with their feet in the sand, and coral reefs for snorkel lovers.
